Winter solstice!

Welcome to the shortest day of the year! Hopefully this marks the beginning of the end. This year has been something. Looking forward to a new year and a fresh start. 

Tomorrow we're expecting a bit of snow. Or more than a bit. I suspect I'll be staying over at work due to unsafe driving conditions later on. 

Saturday I made pomanders. It's my first attempt, so naturally it isn't Martha Stewart. But an attempt was made. 🙂

Lammas

Spent lughnasadh afternoon wandering around the woods behind the house. I gathered some of the various grasses growing on the hill and found a couple four leaf clovers to press in my book.  Time to reflect on what I have accomplished this past year. Managed to get a semi decent paying job (yay!) but having issues paying medical bills (booooo!) . Got to move up to the upstairs bedroom (wheeee...) but it gets bloody hot in the afternoons (and no A/C...blargh!). Going to be attempting to go to school in the spring (somewhat apprehensive), but only if I can get financial aid (waiting on a reply currently.)

At the moment I am watching the growing darkness from my window. It was storming pretty good earlier, so I had to mostly close the window. Still got enough of a crack though, to let some of the cool breeze in. Tomorrow will be spent NOT being at work. 

Hoping you all out there have managed to get a lot accomplished, pick up a skill or two.

Don't worry, I am still here ;)

No, I haven't disappeared. 

It has been a long, long strange year since I last posted. But now I am far and away from where I was, out of the godforsaken south and just awaiting on spring. Although that may take a little longer here in the middle of the country.......

Suffice it to say I have not forgotten you all, and plan on updating a little more frequently now that I am in my new place, new job, new friends. Of course, they don't know about my affinity for dancing in moonlight and lighting candles at certain times of the year. I suspect I will have to keep that private, at least for now.
